Any ex- crewmember of the USS Begor is eligible for Regular
membership. Dues for Regular Members are $10.00 per calendar
year. Forward check or money order to our Treasurer, at the
address below. Make payable to USS BEGOR APD-127 ASSOCIATION.
We also have an Associate Membership which consists of wives and
widows of ex- crewmembers. There are no dues for this type of
membership, except those Associate members desiring to receive the
Newsletters shall be responsible for paying the same membership dues
as Regular members.
A third type of membership is Honorary Membership and consists of,
but is not limited to family members of the ship's sponsor, embarked
personnel such as underwater demolition team members, sons and
daughters of ex-crewmembers, etc. These memberships must be
approved by the Executive Committee. Honorary members pay no
annual dues, except those desiring to receive the Newsletters.
Those members are subject to the same membership dues as regular
members.

The USS BEGOR APD-127 Association is a non-profit organization,
consisting of ex-crew-members, associate members, and honorary members.
The purpose of the association is to provide and perpetuate the memory
and historic significance of the ship's life and to provide for the
regular assembly of former crew members and their families and friends.
Only regular members shall have voting rights.
Only regular members shall be elected to serve as association officers.
Any officer vacancy occurring between duly called meetings shall be filled
by an ex-crew-member, appointed by the president, to serve until the next
meeting.

ASSOCIATION.
ARTICLE 2 : Membership - There shall be three types of
membership.
Regular membership shall consist of any ex-crew-member.
Associate membership shall consist of the wives of ex-crew-members.
Honorary membership shall consist of persons selected and approved by
the Executive Committee. This type membership consists of, but is not
limited to, family members of the ship's sponsor, embarked personnel,
such as underwater demolition team members, etc.
ARTICLE 3 : ASSOCIATION OFFICERS shall consist of:

PRESIDENT
The President shall be elected by a majority vote of regular members
present at a duly called meeting. Duly called meetings are described as
a meeting conducted each year at the ship reunions. In an emergency the
president may call a special meeting after having posted a notice in a
newsletter. The president shall serve for a period of two years or until
a successor has been elected. He may be elected for an additional
two-year term.
He shall be responsible for administration of the association.
He shall conduct the crew meetings and appoint members to the
Reunion Committee.
He shall be chairman of the Executive Committee.
He shall vote as a tie-breaker only.
VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President shall be elected by a majority vote of regular
members present at a duly called meeting, and shall serve for a period
of two years, or until a successor has been elected. He may be elected
for an additional two-year term.
In the absence of the President he shall perform all the duties of
the President.
He will be a member of the Executive Committee and he may vote in
all matters of the association, except when acting as President, then
shall vote as a tie-breaker only.
SECRETARY
The Secretary shall be elected by a majority vote of regular
members present at a duly called meeting, and shall serve for a period
of two years, or until a successor has been elected. He may be elected
for an additional two-year term.
He shall be responsible for recording and maintaining all
association records.
He shall maintain all association archives and record results of
association meetings.
He may maintain a petty cash fund for recurring expenses as
relates to the newsletter and sale of Begor shirts, hats, etc. This
fund shall not exceed $500.00. Excess accumulation of funds shall be
remitted to the Treasurer.
TREASURER
The Treasurer shall be elected by a majority vote of regular
members present at a duly called meeting and shall serve for a period
of two years or until a successor has been elected. He may be elected
for an additional two-year term.
He shall maintain all association funds, financial records and
bank accounts, except as provided for in Paragraph D under Secretary
duties.
He shall present an annual financial report for auditing to the
Executive Committee immediately preceding each meeting.
REUNION COMMITTEE
Reunion locations shall be selected two years in advance, at a
duly called meeting, by a majority vote of regular members present.
The President shall appoint a Reunion Committee annually, at each
reunion, for the second year reunion. At least one member should be
from the geographical area of the reunion. When more than one person
is appointed, the Chairman will be selected by the President.
The President and the Reunion Committee Chairman shall approve
all reunion expenses. The Chairman shall have authority to negotiate,
and enter into agreements, with hotels/motels, vendors and
transportation providers in the name of the association.
Members of the Reunion Committee shall also be members of the
Executive Committee.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice
President and the Reunion Committee of the current reunion site.
The President shall be Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The committee shall perform an audit of association financial
records immediately prior to each duly called meeting and present its
findings at the meeting.
The committee may meet in person or by conference call.
NEWSLETTER EDITOR
The Newsletter Editor shall be appointed by the President.
He shall serve until relieved by the president or until he resigns.
He shall be responsible for writing, assembling and mailing all
newsletters. This should be done at least quarterly.
HISTORIAN
The historian shall be appointed by the President.
He shall serve until relieved by the President or until he resigns.
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT LEADER
The website development leader shall be appointed by the President.
He shall serve until relieved by the President or until he resigns.
His duties shall consist of overall responsibility for development of
our website and shall be responsible for overseeing all postings to
the website.
WEBMASTER
The webmaster shall be appointed by the President.
He shall serve until relieved by the President or until he resigns.
The webmaster shall be responsible for all website postings as
directed by the website development leader
BYLAW AMENDMENTS
Amendments to these bylaws may be made at any duly called meeting by
majority vote of regular members present. All proposed amendments must
be published in the call for the meeting.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
Annual dues shall be determined each year by majority vote of regular
members present at a duly called meeting and shall be effective
January 1st. the following year. Membership shall be on a calendar
year basis.
ASSOCIATION DISBANDMENT
The association may be dissolved at any duly called meeting by
majority vote of regular members present.
Notice of planned association disbandment vote must be posted in the
call for the meeting.
Any remaining association assets shall be donated to the Navy
Relief Society.
ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER
Roberts Rules of Order shall prevail in all situations not covered herein.
